POST MEDIEVAL MOUNT

A Post Medieval copper alloy mount (late 16th – 17th century). This is a rectangular panel constructed from thin copper alloy sheet with a human bust in profile carved on the front surface with the letters ”BO”. The portrait shows a man in profile (facing left) with a beard and a morian (helmet worn in Europe, notably Germany and Spain). The figure is quite crudely carved, the letter B is before the figure and the letter O is behind the figure, all is contained within a linear border. Parts of the edge of the panel are missing. On the reverse are two irregular lines forming a rough border.
