Here and Now, university system budget cuts and tuition increase, Board of Regents approved a System budget that made do with a 90-million dollar cut in state funding as passed by the legislature. UW budget calls for a tuition increase of 6.9 percent for resident undergraduate students. UW System President Kevin Reilly joins us now, Florence County school district dissolving, Florence County School district narrowly lost a spending referenda that would have raised $750, 000 dollars for each of the next three years. so this may be the last school year. Students will be bussed to neighboring districts starting in 2006 if the district dissolves. Dan Brereton is the President of the Florence County School Board President. new board of regent member, The UW Board of Regents has an -ambassador-- as its newest member. Tom Loftus. The longest-serving state assembly speaker, former ambassador to Norway and World Health Organization official started his position as Regent this week. He joins us now.
