On this episode of “Illustrated Daily,” we discuss the war on graffiti. “Webster tells us graffiti is an inscription or a drawing on a wall or a rock, but there's more to it than that. Graffiti, notably that bizarre and undecipherable inscription which defaces public and private buildings wherever our gazes seem to fall, has turned many U.S. cities including Albuquerque into something approximating one vast uninterrupted eyesore. The perpetrators of that which passes for the art of graffiti are usually anonymous, but the materials they used to practice their craft are not. Any wall or building will do, all that is needed is a can of spray paint. In Albuquerque, the problem has become so serious that many city residents find themselves somewhere between a state of rage and outrage prompting city officials recently to inaugurate a program called graffiti stoppers."
