This pamphlet written by Arthur Shields in colloboration between the Works Defense Union and the Sacco-Vanzetti Defense Committee provides a detailed account of the events the led to the arrest of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. Shields begins his discussion with the death of Andrea Salsedo, a friend of Sacco and Vanzetti. For Shields there were three factors used against Sacco and Vanzetti 1) they were Italians 2) the were involved in labor movements 3) they opposed the treatment of their comrades by the Department of Justice. Shields takes a "step-by-step" approach of explaining the facts in this pamphlet. This pamphlet was published in 1921 just one year after Sacco and Vanzetti were arrested. It shows the work and effort the Sacco-Vanzetti Defense Committee to make sure the American public was educated on the case. Even decades after their death, the committee continued their work to exonerate Sacco and Vanzetti.
