A fragment of mosaic, probably Roman, comprising marble tessera set within mortar (AD43-410). This fragment of mosaic consists of 14 tessera made from a white, crystalline marble that has been cut into irregular cubes. These tesserae are set into a bed of pinkish white mortar with irregular inclusions including grog. The impressions of further tessera, that are no longer present, are visible in the mortar.Weight: 297g
