A copper alloy miniature socketed axe probably dating to the period Iron Age to Roman periods (c 800 BC - AD 410). The axe is a Robinson Type IV. In overview is it rectangular in outline with vertical parallel sides which narrow slightly towards the blade. A neatly made miniature axe with an oval, undecorated mouth. The side loop is set just below the mouth. The suspension loop is just to the side of the axe and inside the loop is hollow and is contiguous with the hollow of the body of the axe. There is a hole which is much the same shape as the axe in one side of the blade close to the suspension loop. The patina is an even dark greenish brown.
