ROMAN MINIATURE OBJECT

A Roman copper-alloy miniature hafted axe. The handle is circular in section and has three incised transverse lines on one face near to its base. The axe head gently tapers and is 9mm wide at the blade edge and is 2mm thick. There are traces of a central horizontal line across the head on both sides. It is 27mm long and 17mm wide. The object is in good condition with a brown patina and weighs 4.13 grams.
