Struck silver Irish penny of King John (1199-1216), third (Rex) coinage c1207-1211. Obverse: Crowned portrait of king, facing, within a triangle. King holds a sceptre in his right hand, which divides the legend IOhA / N[NES] / REX. Reverse: A sun, crescent moon and three stars in triangle, with the legend around the edge ROBE / RDON / DIVE. Bust and reverse designs worn but still decipherable, most of the legend sharp.. Spink 6228, Moneyer Roberd, Dublin mint.Measurements: 8.88mm in diameter, 0.34mm thick. 1.16g in weight
