Copper alloy possible Button fragment. Stamped or milled disc imitating a Roman coin of Nero (54-68) but with obverse portrait bust and legend only; the reverse is hollowed. The display face is tinned. A spot of material adhering to the centre of the reverse may be from a loop (now lost) suggesting this to be part of a composite button, designed with reference to Classical or historical interests. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1750-1900.'Obverse' description: Effeminate classical bust probably laureate left.'Obverse' inscription: IMP NERO CAESAR AVG P MAX TRP [?CC]Diameter: 26.7mm, Thickness: 0.9mm, Weight: 3.74gms.
