Roughly triangular fragment of a medieval copper alloy object with four ovoid apertures. The straight edge is original, while the other sides are not, with the breaks running across seven further apertures. There is a very slight curve so that with the straight edge levelled up the object appears to set at c.40° from the vertical. On the outer or convex face at the straight edge a rounded notch is flanked by a pair of slight protuberances. Rocker-arm engraving, now rather faint, is visible on the outer face. A very similar fragment from West Acre (HER 30821) was considered as perhaps from a ventilator or lantern. >32mm x >24mm. Maximum thickness 2mm.
