An incomplete Medieval cast copper alloy composite strap end occupying the whole width. The front plate has been cast with integral sides which terminate in a projection toward a collared or acorn knop. The front plate is decorated with geometric engraving, and broken points suggest that openworked decoration would also have been present. The metal is a dark grey-green. The strap end is 22.5mm long, 21.4mm wide and 2.6mm thick. It weighs 2.52 grams. This strap end is similar to examples in Egan & Pritchard (1991), p.148-9, which are dated to the late 14th – early 15th century.
