Medieval gilt trapezoidal buckle frame, most of narrowed bar missing, one side distorted. In the centre of the outside edge and both junctions with the sides a lobe is decorated with a pair of oblique grooves and with rocker-arm engraving, and there is a moulded grove for the pin on the central lobe. Small, flat rectangular bosses at both ends of the bar also carry rocker-arm engraving. 21 x 40mm. A most unusual form. Probably late 13th – 14th century.
