The Portable Antiquities Scheme

Hooked strap-end consisting of folded sheet and (incomplete) separate hook secured by rivet and projecting through slot in the fold. Two rivets secured the strap near the badly damaged attachment edge. A line of rocker-arm engraving follows the damaged sides and the outside edge. A small notch marks both sides near the latter. Dimensions of >29 x 29mm, excluding the hook which projects a minimum of 10mm. Dates from the 15th - 16th century.
