Copper alloy sprung Dolphin brooch, spring, pin and part of catchplate missing. Near the end of both wings a pair of vertical engraved lines are crossed by many short transverse lines. D-sectioned bow with shallow moulded grooves following edges. Other decoration consists of fine engraving. Two lines start on the sides of the rear hook and curve towards each other before diverging towards the foot. Between these are curving transverse lines which are longer at the top and become shorter as the enclosing lines near each other, and then lengthen once again towards the foot. On one face of the catchplate two curving lines enclose a zig-zag. Of two perforations of complex shape in the catchplate one is incomplete. Wingspan 26mm. Length 56mm. c.43 - c. 65 AD.
