Medieval gilt buckle with integral plate, rather abraded. Oval frame with straight and widened outside edge decorated with an oblique groove next to both ends. D-sectioned pin. Plate tapering from frame before expanding to a break, attachment edge missing, with concave headed rivet near pin hole, transverse ribs and grooves across narrower part, small area of rocker-arm engraving adjacent to pin hole. For use with a spur. Width of frame 12.5mm. Width of narrowest part of plate 5mm. Length >37mm. 13th – 14th century.
