The Portable Antiquities Scheme

Upper part of gilt figure of crowned Christ from a crucifix, part of crown, both arms and all below the upper part of the loin cloth missing. The reverse is hollow. Christ's head is inclined to His right. Details of crown, hair, beard and torso are indicated by engraving. Specks of gilding survive. Height >70mm. Dates to the 13th century.
