The Portable Antiquities Scheme

Medieval/Post-Medieval lozengiform plate with solder on one face and with very fine rocker-arm engraving in lines around the edges and in cross formation. Probably the front part of a double-hooked dress fastener. Normally the hook is riveted to the plate, e.g. Norwich Households no. 81. 26 x 24mm. Thickness 1mm. 15th –16th century.
