Suspension mount for a horse-harness pendant. It is lozengiform, with the lowest corner extended into two loops now blocked with corrosion from an iron hinge bar. The mount is gilded on the front and sides, and the front is decorated with a deeply engraved rampant lion. There is something within the engraving, which may just be tightly packed soil (with many small round quartz grains) or which may also be some decayed inlay, perhaps enamel. On the reverse is a large square-section rivet.
