MEDIEVAL FINGER RING

A copper-alloy finger ring with a large oval shaped bezel. Measuring 24.5mm by 20mm externally and 19.6mm by 16mm internally. The hoop is rectangular in shape and slightly worn in its centre. The shoulders flare into a triangular shape and have moulded longitudinal ridges radiating from the hoop. The oval bezel is flat and measures 18mm by 16.6mm in size. Nothing can be seen engraved on the bezel but it is worn and any engraving or additional decoration could have worn away. This finger ring is most likely to be a 15th century signet ring.
