POST MEDIEVAL MOUNT

Late post-medieval or early modern lead-alloy ornament dating from c. AD1700-1900. The ornament is complete, but broken in two pieces. It is plan on the reverse, but shows moulded decoration on the obverse: it is shaped like a sitting draped female, reclining on a kline or stool, her back possibly resting on what looks like a tree. The srufaces on ob- and reverse are very worn and none of the painting (if there was any) or the details of the scene survive. It looks like a fairly peaceful garden scene with a female deity or nymph resting.
