Modern souvenir; cast copper alloy book, a souvenir of Norwich, probably dating from the late 19th or very early 20th century. The book is rectangular, with cast covers and two discreet leaves within, all held together by a composite pin hinge along the ‘spine’. One cover has the word ‘NORWICH’ stamped diagonally across it. The other has a curly, foliate pattern across its surface. The interior pages have no extant decoration. It has been suggested that this object may relate to the craze for miniature photography in the late Victorian era, although this interpretation is not certain.Length 18.5mm, width 16.6mm, thickness (closed) 5.5mm, weight 3.92g
