A miniature ceramic vessel. The vessel is in the form of a narrow-mouthed jug or amphora. The jug has a narrow flat base which expands to the shoulders and then narrows rapidly to the opening. There is wide moulded lip around the opening. There are two wide lugs on the shoulder. The vessel surface has the remains of sooting on it, suggesting that it was used in a fire, probably during its use as a toy. There is a large, slanted 'V' shape on the surface of the vessel however it is not clear whether this is intentional or accidental. Probably modern in date.Similar amphorae-shaped ceramic vessels were carried in pairs by late C20th garden-ornament donkeys.
