Copper alloy toy posnet. Miniature tripod vessel with handle projecting from the upper body. The handle rises slightly above the horizontal. Posnets date from the 14th through to the 17th/18th centuries (Butler and Green 2003, p.16). Egan suggests the earliest tripod vessel toys, mainly cauldrons, may be 15th century but the majority are probably 16th century in date, Egan 1996.
