A complete cast lead alloy miniature votive axehead, probably dating to the Roman period, AD43-410. The miniature is wedge-shaped, with a square-sectioned butt end which tapers to a flat blade end. The butt end of the axehead has a circular drilled hole with an approximate diameter of 3.1mm. The square-sectioned terminal has an incised 'I'. At the blade end, one side of the axehead has a heavily incised line. The miniature axehead is grey/yellow in colour with an uneven patina. Length: 21.47mm. Width at the blade: 6.37mm. Thickness: 5.69mm. Weight: 3.0g. Comparable examples recorded under references LEIC-751012 and FAKL-B0C080.
