Well Equipped For Flood- Leigh Dawson maneuvers a boat through the flooded display room of the Marine Equipment Company in southwest Washington after the Potomac River overflowed its banks in some parts of the area. Dawson and the other two employes, unidentified, rescued the boat after it was washed from its display cradle outside the store.

The Harrison Gray Otis house, corner of Cambridge and Lynde streets, built 1795-6 by Boston's second mayor, ready for a move of several rods to the rear in order to allow the widening of Cambridge street at this point. This mansion-house is the headquarters of The Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities, which has just launched a campaign for nearly a quarter of a million to make complete restoration of the house possible, as well as the altering of two adjoining houses on Lynde street for the purposes of a fire-proof museum. One of the state vice-presidents of the society is Mr. Henry Ford.
