Hair tousled, William N. Elwell, 19, of Brunswick, Me., in Portland, Me., police station early today (June 2) after he was booked on a charge of suspicion of felony. A warrent charging the youth with the murder of his aunt, Mrs. Viola Tully, 56, of Melrose, Mass., has been issued in Malden, Mass., and is en route to Maine, police said. Portland Police Inspector Peter McFarland said Elwell was captured at gunpoint while driving Mrs. Tully's car through Portland last night. Her battered body was found in nearby Scarborough, Me.
