Tokyo: Radical student hijackers of Japanese jetliner demanded two Japanese officials as hostages for the release of the 104 passengers and permission to fly the plane to North Korea. In addition to Shinjiro Yamamura (file photo, r) Parliamentary Vice Transportation Minister who had offered himself as hostage, the students demanded Sukeya Abe (file photo, 1), a Socialist member of Parliament, go with Yamamura and vouch for this identity, 4/2 est. Students said that Abe is the only man acceptable to them. Hijacking is the longest in history.
