Swiss Landslide Follows Torrential Rains--Here's a section of the Swiss village of Schmerikon in the canton of St. Galen after a landslide which started on Goldberg mountain almost completely covered residences in the village. A lone man (right, center) stands by eaves of one house giving an idea of the depth of the silt on which he stands. Torrential rains, the worst in 777 years, preceded the landslide.
