Ruppert Signs Brewers Code Aligning Beer With Public Interest. Colonel Jacob Ruppert, prominent brewer and retiring chairman of the United Brewers Industrial Foundation, after signing Code of Practice adopted by the Foundation at its First Annual Convention held in Pittsburgh recently. The Code pledged cooperation with all forces working for the public good in this country -- law enforcement, moderation and a recognition of the public welfare, and against abuses that have grown up in the distribution of beer.
