Rose Clinton of New York City, appears today before the House Subcommittee on Un-American Activities. She refused to answer questions on whether she had held Communist membership or had connections with the pacifist group Women Strike for Peace organization. Miss Clinton who said she was born and educated in Virginia, cited the 5th Amendment 25 times in declining to answer questions. A woman in the hearing room presented Miss Clinton with the rose bouquet as she took the witness stand. The subcommittee is investigating possible communist infiltration of peace organizations.
