He's Herbert McKenley, sprint champion from the island of Jamaica, one of two Jamaica boys awarded scholarships to Boston College by the Jesuit Fathers. On the left is Coach Jack Ryder and on the right is the Very Rev. Thomas J. Feeney, S.J., superior of the Jesuit mission in Jamaica. McKenley is taking a pre-medical course and plans to attend Georgetown dental school after completing his four years at B.C. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and Coach Ryder plans to try him at the indoor 600-yard distance.
