
Muhammad ibn `Ala' al-Din Raza'i
Anthology (Dīvān) of Persian poetry. Codex, ink, colours and gold on paper, 53 folios, gilded leather binding, Persian verses in nasta`liq script, double page borders of two ducks and ten simurghs amid curling clouds (fols. 3v-4r) and illuminated cornerpieces (lachak) throughout, border designs of gold-outlined floral and foliate scrollwork or animals in landscape throughout, anthology (Dīvān) of different Persian poets including Sa`di, copied by Muhammad ibn `Ala' al-Din Raza'i, Iran, dated Jumada II 973H, January 1566. Folio 1r has a later owner's seal and signature, Sayyid `Ali Fu'ad, who owned the manuscript in 1278H (1861-62).
