Bellows, George, 1882-1925 · 1918
The third Christmas-card. After a large picture painted for the Red Cross to commemorate the ending of the war. (Bellows) / The final print influenced by the war, and the third and last of the lithographic Christmas cards, was a euphoric tribute to the armistice. Bellows had used the idea previously in a painting for the Red Cross commemorating the end of the war. This lithograph is not mentioned in the artist's record book. (Mason)
