Mrs. Anne Burns, 35, is the principal science officer who participated in air tests to determine the cause of the Comet jet airliner crashes in the Mediterranean Sea recently. Conducted by the Royal Aircraft establishment here, the tests led to the conclusion that "metal fatigue" was responsible for the Comet, Yoke Peter, bursting in midair and killing 35 persons. Mrs. Burns (left) is shown as she appears in everyday life, at right she is shown in flying kit used during the grueling tests.
