Ed Gein sat Thursday awaiting the start of a court hearing on his petition for release from Central State Hospital, while newsmen watched. Gein said he had "fully recovered his mental health" in the 17 years since he was charged with the mutilation-murder of a Plainfield woman. But four psychiatrists and a judge disagreed, and he was ordered back to the institution.
