13th-18th Century. Copper alloy, cast, annular ring or 'mystery ring'. Length=29mm, Width=28mm, Thickness=1.5mm, Diameter=29mm, Weight=2.3g. Crudely cast, irregular ring with flattened sexfoil cross-section, unfettled and with hand file marks on surface. Possible functions: harness ring, tapestry ring, strap junction, pendant loop, counter that could have been hend captive on a stick, 'poor man's' ring fastener/ring brooch or plant holder of guide etc.
