Bush and John Kerry, One of the battleground states in this year's presidential race, Wisconsin is already a popular destination for the candidates. Last week George W. Bush paid a visit to Appleton. Yesterday Senator John Kerry made his first campaign in Wisconsin since the primary. Art Hacket has this report. Barrett defeats Marvin Pratt in milwaukee mayor election, Milwaukee voters have spoken and former Congressman Tom Barrett elected Mayor of Wisconsin's largest city. Votes were split sharply along racial lines with African-Americans voting for Marvin Pratt - the previous acting mayor when John Norquist stepped down. In addition to finding ways to bridge the cities racial divide, the new Mayor faces many challenges in the tight budget times. We spoke with Mayor-elect Barrett earlier from Milwaukee. Wisconsin is ranked 32nd in 'pork'spending, Are congressional members bringing home the bacon or loading up the federal budget with pork? This week a D.C. watchdog group released its annual pig book. A list of, what they call, wasteful federal spending. Wisconsin congressional lawmakers account for more than $100 million of it.
