NMiF correspondent Gwyneth Doland talks with Senators Mary Kay Papen (D-Las Cruces) and Michael Sanchez (D-Belen) and economist Vicente Feliciano on using money from Land Grant Permanent Fund for early childhood education. Also featured this week, what does the condition of the urban core say about the heart and soul of a city? NMiF Producer Megan Kamerick speaks with a panel from the Heart of the City exhibition about building Albuquerque’s creative core and what that means for economic development. And we also talk with Kathleen Holscher, chair of Roman Catholic Studies at UNM, about her upcoming talk on Pope Francis. NMiF host Gene Grant and The Line opinion panel look at the ongoing problems at the Children, Youth and Families Department and whether any legislative fixes will help the agency more effectively address child welfare in New Mexico.
