The Department of Natural Resources and the Environmental Protection Agency are trying to increase public awareness of this problem. They have hired UW-Oshkosh students to gather water samples from beaches on the Great Lakes. Grad student Reynee Sampson is on the hunt for E. coli on the shores of Lake Superior.
