The episode looks at Chinese Americans living in Orange County and how they incorporate their cultural heritage into their daily lives through educational programs in Mandarin language and calligraphy as well as through martial arts training including Shifu, Tai Chi, and Kung fu. A sociology professor provides historical context by discussing the different waves of Chinese immigration. The guests discuss some Chinese artwork as well as an oral history project currently in progress to better document Chinese American experiences.
