Trustman, Benjamin A., Trustman, Julia M. · 1840
The lithograph represents a wall, which is blocking our view of a man walking his dog. Also appeared in La Caricature Deuxième série 2ème Année, "Revue morale, judiciaire, littéraire, artistique, fashionable et scénique" in number 14. Daumier is trying to show the saturation of the general public in traditional art. The print must be seen as an attack against conventional painting as supported by the Academy.
