A letter to Benjamin Silliman in which Edward Hitchcock writes about some writings he has for the American Journal of Science, asking whether the Journal will continue despite Silliman's poor health. Hitchcock also expresses concern over Amos Eaton's proposed new nomenclature for the rocks in the Connecticut River Valley, asking Silliman to put a stop to it if possible.
