POST MEDIEVAL MINIATURE OBJECT

Cast copper alloy hand or glove, perhaps from a doll or similar. It is hollow, and contained a blue glass stopper which perhaps was intended as an arm. The object is decorated with relief ornament, resembling the end of a sleeve, aroune the flared open socket. This has a zig-zag edge at the base of the hand, then three transverse relief bands with a pair of flowers on the wider central band. The decoration at the flared end is harder to read but again appears to incorporate zig-zags and perhaps longitudinal ribbing.The wrist of the inner (palm) face has a hole, perhaps for fixing the blue glass element. Some iron corrosion is present on the palm and wrist, perhaps from an iron rivet. From its style, this object is clearly of post-Medieval date.
