Medieval cast copper alloy miniature cauldron. Miniature three legged vessel, round in plan, with plain everted rim and two opposed triangular handles. One of the legs is missing - this appears to have been mis-cast rather than broken off as there is a small rounded lump on the base of the vessel where it would have been. One other leg is broken circa half way down. The remaining leg is complete (length 14.4mm), with a slightly everted foot. The pan of the vessel is hollow, depth 10mm. Length 24.56mm, width (across handles) 23.30mm, thickness across base of pan 13.75mm, thickness including leg 14.1mm, weight 6.88g.These objects first appear in the 15th century and continue into the 18th century, but they are most common during the late 16th & 17th century. They are the only copper alloy miniature domestic objects known of - other miniature domestic objects are made from lead / lead alloy.
