A Medieval copper alloy rectangular mount dating to the 14th century AD. The mount is flat with straight edges and has two separate rivets in the center of the front face, both of which are still present. The front face is decorated with an engraved design; there is an arrow shape around each of the rivets, the ends of which join to make a central rectangle. The area surrounding this shape and in filling from the outside boarder is decorated with a zig-zaged line engraving. The reverse of the mount is plain. The mount is 29.7mm long, 13.7mm wide, 1.1mm thick and weighs 2.3g. The is a similar example in Egan and Prtichard (1991) p 196 ref 1050.
