A Roman copper alloy miniature votive axe (AD43-410). The axe-head is wedge-shaped, with the butt of the axe head rectangular in section and 5.27mm thick, decreasing to 1.05mm at the blade. In profile it increases in width from 7.48mm at the butt, to 11.91mm. The handle, which is rounded in section, is 37.44mm long and has been cast to appear to pass through the axe head. The axehead is decorated on one side with a semi-circle of concave dots, surrounding a single dot. The reverse is plain.
