The Portable Antiquities Scheme

A possibly Roman case copper alloy miniature axe. The axe is cast in one piece with a hollow core. The handle is formed by drilling from either side. It is thought that miniature object such as this had a votive role. Possibly Robinson type III or V. The axe is 16.9mm long, 15.1mm wide, 8.3mm thick and weighs 6.4 grams.
