Blue dyed fabric with a white pattern. On a blue, speckled background, large (approximately 20 x 20 cm.) white areas have been splayed out with wax.‖ Pattern: Ren. Mrs. Kamara put liquid wax in a pouring jug and poured it onto the white cotton: she held the jug about a meter above the fabric. Then she dyed the cloth in Gara blue and boiled the wax out (see M6-46).\This cloth was made in the same way as 5212-18 (for a detailed description see there) with this difference: \At 5270-1, wax was applied only once (5212-18: twice) and was dyed only with Gara (5212-18: Kola and Gara); 5270-1 has 23 white areas (5212-18: 21).
