Warp: fine factory cotton - re-spun - in the colors red, yellow-orange, green and white; thick hand-spun red cotton for the patterns. Weft: white cotton as in the warp. Chainscomb weave with red, orange, yellow and green stripes at the sides; the central part of the faja is decorated with various geometric motifs (including zigzags and hourglasses), stylized flowers and plumed dancers, human figures with large headdresses. These motifs are made up of fluttering warp threads. One finished selvedge, on the other side the long warp threads have been partially cut loose to form a fringe; a knot prevents the fabric from fraying.
