Pinback button for presidential candidates Gus Hall and Jarvis Tyner

A round metal pinback button in support of the Gus Hall and Jarvis Tyner U.S. Communist Party presidential campaign of 1976. The front of the button features a split white and red background and depicts a stylized “76” for the year 1976 in the bottom red half. The ‘7’ features the bolded surnames of the two candidates, “HALL” on the top and “TYNER” along the vertical side with a white star at the top. Inside of the ‘6’ is a black circle with white text that reads “COMMUNIST / PARTY / U.S.A.”. Red and black text in the top white half of the button reads “We the People Want…. / JOBS – EQUALITY – DÉTENTE”. The back of the button is plain and unmarked metal with a locking pin style fastener
